Brokenshire Medical Center Opens New Chemotherapy and Infusion Unit

Brokenshire Medical Center marked a significant milestone in patient-centered cancer care with the opening of its Chemotherapy and Infusion Unit on March 9, 2026. The newly established unit strengthens the hospital’s commitment to providing comprehensive, accessible, and high-quality treatment for patients requiring chemotherapy and other infusion-based therapies.

The facility was formally inaugurated during an opening ceremony attended by hospital leaders, physicians, and healthcare staff who continue to work together in advancing the institution’s oncology services. Among those present were Ronald Manuel C. Santos, Senior Vice President of AppleOne Medical Group and Chief Executive Officer of Brokenshire Medical Center; Michael N. Jamiana, Medical Director of Brokenshire Medical Center; and Perlita Joanne D. Yu‑Dela Cruz, Internal Medicine – Oncology specialist and Head of the Chemotherapy and Infusion Unit.

The Chemotherapy and Infusion Unit was developed to provide a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment for patients undergoing cancer treatment and other medical therapies requiring intravenous infusion. Equipped with modern medical facilities and supported by trained oncology healthcare professionals, the unit ensures that patients receive their treatments under the highest standards of safety, monitoring, and compassionate care.

Chemotherapy and infusion therapy play a crucial role in the management of many cancers and chronic medical conditions. With the opening of this dedicated unit, patients at Brokenshire Medical Center can now receive these essential treatments in a specialized setting designed to support both their medical needs and overall comfort throughout the course of therapy.

Under the leadership of Dr. Yu-Dela Cruz, the unit will play an important role in strengthening the hospital’s multidisciplinary approach to cancer care.
